Town of Oro Valley Official Website Oro Valley is a suburban little town located 6 miles northwest of Tucson, incorporated in 1974, with a current population of about 40,195. It sits a little higher than Tucson in the western foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains at the base of Pusch Ridge.  It has been dubbed the “Upscale Tech Mecca” of Southern Arizona by the Arizona Daily Star newspaper. Oro Valley is home to over 10 high tech firms and has a median household income of nearly 50% higher than the U.S. median.

In March 2008, Family Circle magazine featured Oro Valley as one of the top ten best towns for families in America.  Money Magazine reported Oro Valley was one of the best places to live in 2007 & 2008. In 2005, Oro Valley was named one of “America’s Top-Rated Smaller Cities by Grey House Publishing, specifically noting the excellence in schools, medical facilities and golf courses. 

Oro Valley hosts a large number of residents from around the US who maintain second or winter homes in the town.  

Oro Valley is known as an outdoor dream with biking, hiking and golf.  The scenery is spectacular, with the Tortolia Mountains located just to the north of the town and vistas of the Tucson valley just to the south.  El Tour de Tucson bicycle race  and The Tucson Marathon are just a few of the organized sporting events that  take place in and around Oro Valley each year.
